Saturday 18th RCP Tryouts

Today's Tryout was amazing, with so much talent showing up, it is going to be very hard for the RCP to pick the additional players to full up their rosters. Players like B. Baines; J.Angel; B.Lee; A.J; D.Flow; J. Wager; A. McCall; D.Well; and more, it seems they are going to have to really think about the next move.

Speaking to Bishop Smith, it is very understanding how he feel at this  point, when he made the statement today, " I wish I could keep you all, but that is not going to happen, so I want to thank each of you for coming out today, and given your all." Am going to do my best to pick the best players, that will fit the RCP Motto: "Be Professional on and off the court", for we are more then just a basketball team we are mentors, family and more importantly we have a community job to do, to bring Semi-Pro Basketball back into the light here in Peoria IL."



Understand that statement really made me proud as part of the River City Panthers staff. Never in my wildest dream did I figure out I would be announcing games, and doing the Hoop City Sports Radio show this year, but it has happen and I am ready to begin.

With the upcoming 2014 season for the Central Basketball Association, there is much to be known, but they are keeping it a secret until next week, I am very amazed how they are holding back their information, not allowing other things to get in the way. So far the only thing I have found out with from doing my little call around, is that CBA was very selective about what team will play within this year league, when ask the question why?
 I was informed that in order to maintain a positive outcome, true basketball status and do the league right, we must ensure that every team that decide to come about can agree to our standards, policies and is able to to meet all stages of the procedures, it is not just about putting a team together, it is about building a family, create community change, given these young men a chance to show their talents and making sure that we promote our players as well as our team as a true and effective Semi-Pro Basketball League.

Amazing how they are putting this all together, and I am very excited about it. I did find out that River City Panthers is will have their own personal Dj from WAZU 90 from Peoria IL. Dj 3W, whom I will be interviewing very soon about how he feel being on the River City Panthers Staff and working together as a whole.

Once again, todays tryout was amazing, and I can't wait to see the roster for the River City Panthers 2014 CBA Team.
